The Book Thief #1

This week I started reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I chose to read this book because I thought it would be interesting to read a book that is written in the perspective of Death. I also like reading book that talk a little bit about the Holocaust and how life was like for Jews and people hiding Jewish people. This book is very different because of the way it is written. It is also very detailed and interesting because it has examples of dramatic irony, foreshadowing, similes, metaphors and may other types of figurative language.

The book is about a girl named Liesel. The book is written in the perspective of Death. The books setting takes place in the time of World War II. Right now in the book Leisel is an angry girl because of things that have happened to her in her life. Death is mocking and dark. I think I will like the book because it is different and written in an interesting way. To watch the trailer for the movie go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92EBSmxinus

I Am Malala #3

I finished reading I Am Malala this week. I usually don't read non-fiction but I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked reading about the story of Malala and think other young women should also read this book. It can definitely inspire girls to make a difference in this world. The book can also   help women in the world becomes stronger and braver. I would recommend the book to everyone, even if you don't like non-fiction because it is very moving.

The book starts by telling about Malala's childhood and how nobody was happy about a girl being born in the family. Nobody outside of her family thought she could succeed. The book goes on to tell about the Taliban (terrorist group) and how they shot for speaking up about girls rights. She explains how the experience made her stronger as a woman and made her want to speak up even more about rights for women. Today she is very inspirational and motivational to people around the world and has definitely made a difference. I Am Malala #2

I am halfway through Malala's book and so far I really like it. I am able to see her perspective on how woman are treated in some other countries today. Her words are very moving. She includes pictures of what happened to her which makes the reader feel more present to the situation. It can also make the reader feel more emotions towards the situation. I think Malala is very motivational in the way she writes.

Malala's book is more intense because it is an autobiography instead of a biography. The reader get to see the perspective from the view of who it actually happened to. This book is the type of book that makes you want to go out into the world and make a different. I am very excited to finish this book and read more about what happened to Malala and what she thinks about woman's rights. I Am Malala #1

I just finished Torn and now I am starting to read a non-fiction book called I Am Malala. The book is about the story of Malala Yousafzai and it is also written by her. I chose to read this book because the book is very inspirational to women in the world. I feel like he/r story encourages me to not take opportunities for granted and be grateful for what I have. Not all people in the world have a say in what happens in their life and Malala shows that there is always hope for change.

Malala went through a lot in her life but she still decided share her story with the world. She shared her story even when she knew their could be consequences. She is a very strong woman and influences other woman to stand up for their rights. She shows that woman as a whole are growing stronger everyday. I am looking forward to read her book and learn more about her story. To watch an interview of Malala go to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjGL6YY6oMs
